Key Ingredients
Vitamin A: contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and in the process of cell specialization.
Vitamin C: Probably the most researched vitamin over time - and one of the most commonly known. Humans are not able to form Vitamin C themselves - and it is therefore important to get Vitamin C through food and supplements. Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant that contributes to a balanced immune system. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation, bones, cartilage, gums, skin and teeth. And contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Vitamin E: consists of the tocopherols (d-alpha, d-gamma, d-beta, and d-delta) that all work together to fight free radicals. In natural food sources, vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol - found in a mixture of tocopherols) works together to neutralize the free radicals. Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Niacin contributes to normal skin
Niacin: Also known as B3, contributes to normal and healthy skin.
Collagen: The most plentiful protein in the body and it provides structure to much of your body, including bones, skin, tendons, and ligaments.. It has important roles, including providing structure to your skin and helping your blood clot. Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, accounting for about a third of its protein composition. It’s one of the major building blocks of bones, skin, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Collagen is also found in many other body parts, including blood vessels, corneas, and teeth. You can think of it as the “glue” that holds all these things together. In fact, the word comes from the Greek word “kólla,” which means glue.
Hyaluronic acid: Also known as hyaluronan, is a clear, gooey substance that is naturally produced by your body. The largest amounts of it are found in your skin, connective tissue and eyes. Its main function is to retain water to keep your tissues well lubricated and moist. Hyaluronic acid has a variety of uses. Many people take it as a supplement, but it’s also used in topical serums, eye drops and injections.
Glutathione: An antioxidant produced in cells. It’s comprised largely of three amino acids: glutamine, glycine, and cysteine. Glutathione levels in the body may be reduced by a number of factors, including poor nutrition, environmental toxins, and stress. Its levels also decline with age. In addition to being produced naturally by the body, glutathione can be given intravenously, topically, or as an inhalant.
Resveratrol: A plant compound that acts like an antioxidant. The top food sources include red wine, grapes, some berries and peanuts. This compound tends to be concentrated mostly in the skins and seeds of grapes and berries. These parts of the grape are included in the fermentation of red wine, hence its particularly high concentration of resveratrol.
Alpha-lipoic acid: An organic compound found in all human cells. It’s made inside the mitochondrion — also known as the powerhouse of cells — where it helps enzymes turn nutrients into energy. Alpha-lipoic acid is both water- and fat-soluble, which allows it to work in every cell or tissue in the body. Meanwhile, most other antioxidants are either water- or fat-soluble.
Aloe vera: A succulent with a long history of being used for medicinal purposes, dating back to ancient Egypt. The plant is native to North Africa, Southern Europe, and the Canary Islands. Today, aloe vera is grown in tropical climates worldwide. It's known to have many benefits and is often used as a gel on the skin if sunburned or for scars. Grape seed extract (GSE) is a dietary supplement made by removing, drying, and pulverizing the bitter-tasting seeds of grapes.
Grape seeds: Rich in antioxidants, including phenolic acids, anthocyanins, flavonoids, and oligomeric proanthocyanidin complexes (OPCs).
